Today I want to share a super easy craft that I am doing with my after school library group. We will be watching the 1966 cartoon version of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and I have been toying with the idea of a growing heart craft as a memento for the occasion.
Grow your heart with this tutorial!
Supplies
- Red Construction Paper
- Heart Template (I used one found on the site 2020site.org (or you may cut your own)
- Pipe Cleaners
- Buttons
- Scissors
- Glue
- Tape
Create:
With the red construction paper, cut out the hearts in three different sizes.
Glue the smallest heart to the button and tape the end of the pipe cleaner to the front of the heart.
Use the pipe cleaners to arrange the hearts from smallest to largest .
Wrap the pipe cleaner around your finger to make the pipe cleaner curly.
Add the other hearts, arranging them from smallest to largest and Voila!
Your heart can grow three sizes like the Grinch!
Note: I taped the ends of the piper cleaners because of the pointy edges.
