In my home, I’m the person that is in charge of paying the bills. I’ve just always been better with finances than my husband is.   Every two weeks, I sit down with my checkbook and our bills and go through and get organized for the month. I generally have to grab things from all over the house before I can get started.  I need the bills from the kitchen. I need the calculator from my office desk. I need to find a pen that the kids haven’t walked away with.  I started thinking that it would really save me time to have everything I needed in one spot.  I decided to make a bill paying center to make that possible.

Set this bill paying center in an area of the room that you generally use to pay your bills.  In my home, it sits on the kitchen counter since I pay my bills at the kitchen table.  Everything is all in one place. I have no clutter in that corner. Nothing gets misplaced. As soon as it arrives in the house, it goes in the wooden box.

Definitely needs a reminder too, I have moved to online payment but may miss the deadline to pay.

Great idea for confining everything in one place, we actually bought ours, but if we didn’t already have one, I’d probably want to come up with my own.
