Do you have a nighttime routine to be organized tomorrow? Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up in the morning and have everything ready to go? Well, if you use the right nighttime routine, this is possible. No, mornings will likely never be perfect, but you certainly can make them less stressful with the correct approach. Here is a recommended nighttime routine that you can customize to make it work for you.
Like most things, planning in advance is going to help you here. To make your nighttime routine as easy as possible for you, wardrobe and meal planning are musts. And this goes for the whole family. Saturday is the day to carve out a little time for meal planning; you need to determine your breakfasts and lunches for the week, at the very least, but planning your dinners will help you feel even more ahead.
For wardrobe planning, Sunday evening is the best. To help the kids feel better about this, let them plan their outfits. Once everything is picked out, you just need to put it in a special place (such as a certain side of the closet or in a special drawer). It is pretty easy, and if anyone is struggling with picking out the right outfit, there is no rush.
Now, for the nightly routine.
You are already in the kitchen, so why not take care of these items as well? As the food cooks, you can quickly throw together breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, try easy items such as overnight oats or chia seed pudding. In the morning, all you need to do is grab them out of the refrigerator and stir them a bit. For lunch, either keep it simple with items like sandwiches or quesadillas or find a creative way to use what you are cooking for dinner, that way you don’t need to do much more than cook a little extra.
Your workday is over, but rather than struggling to pull everything together in the morning; you should do it in the evening. Will this save you time? Probably not, but it will save you morning stress. Gather up all the files and other items you will need for the next day and put them in your office on your desk or in your bag.
Use this time to get your kids prepped for their work, aka school, as well. Make sure all notebooks and books are in their bags and that their homework is put away nicely and ready to turn in the next day.
If you did your prep work, this should be simple. All you need to do is grab your outfit and have it out and ready for the morning. Don’t forget accessories!
As best as you can, make sure you complete these activities at the same time each day. And don’t forget to schedule in some fun and relaxation with your family! You don’t want everything to be about work and organization.
