I am spilling gratitude this week…it was my theme for Thanksgiving 2011 and continues into 2012 and beyond. I am so filled with gratitude this year, I had to find a way to craft it. The result is My Gratitude Tree. I created it last year to count my blessings and I loved it so much I kept it up all year. I put Christmas decorations on after I removed the acorns and blessing tags. I put Easter eggs on in spring. I hung tiny flags on the 4th and sometimes I just leave it unadorned. It is beautiful in any setting.
This year has been a life changer for me and for that I am spilling gratitude!!! As I walk each morning in mindful meditation, I recount the blessings I have. Each are tucked away in my heart to savor as I came to understand that a grateful heart unlocks the fullness of life.
I am most thankful for the power of gratitude itself and exactly what the feeling of gratitude can manifest.
No budget for decorating? No problem. Use what you find in your own backyard…literally. Just place some twigs in a blue Mason jar. Gather some acorns if you can. I may paint them this year!!!
Punch or cut circles from yellow paper and let family members write what they are grateful for this year. Thread some raffia thru a hole in the paper and attached acorns. Hold a little ceremony of hanging them on the Gratitude Tree.
They are simple to make and look so beautiful…you can do it too!!!

So beautiful and a wonderful idea. I think that it is important to teach my children to be thankful each day. Around the holidays it is so easy to get greedy and want, want , want. They have so much to be thankful for. Thank you for this idea. .. . I might steal it 🙂
I’ve been dying to make one of these. I started collecting branches last year, but still don’t have enough that are just perfect, so right now my big umbrella stand has just a couple of branches in it, I’m sure visitors must think I’m odd 🙂
