ST. Patrick’s Day Burlap Wreath #TBCCrafters

Since it’s almost March, I wanted to do a little project for St. Patrick’s Day. I know most people don’t even think it’s a holiday for decorating, but I’ll use any excuse to change things up.

I’m a huge fan of all things burlap. I don’t have a ton of it in my house, but I’m trying to get in as much as I can. I have to sometimes reign myself in when I get on a “kick” or it would be EVERYWHERE.

In late fall I had made several burlap wreaths to sell at a holiday craft show. I have a couple leftover and have been making them interchangeable with the holidays or seasons. (I did a quick tutorial on my blog on how to make the base of the wreath.)

The great thing about using a foam based wreath is that you can change the picks as often as you’d like.

While at the Dollar Store the other day, I grabbed some of the Spring/Easter picks as well. I’ll show you how easy it is to just change up the wreath.

I just took the green shamrock picks I had from The Christmas Tree Shops, cut the wire stem and inserted them into the foam base in a cluster. I don’t use ribbon, to me it gets too fussy. If I had more time and really thought about it some gold coin chocolates hot glued to a stick would have been cute to put in there as well.

Here it is with the Easter Egg picks and some of the artificial ivy I had gotten at the dollar store. I did the same thing as with the shamrocks.

  1. Cute idea, but I would definitely see myself filling it up with shamrocks and gold coins and getting a tad bit carried away, way to keep the simplicity.

  2. That is absolutely adorable! I need to find some burlap!
