Stacked Pumpkin Arrangement #FallFun

Check it Out!  Last week my craft involved Fall Fun and in keeping with the fall theme, I have been really wanting to make something for my front porch which at this moment has nothing on it!  Very plain and boring!  I have had this idea that included adding my street number to an arrangement, but of course having very little supplies, I had no idea where to start.  So a week or so ago, I was at the Dollar Tree and found some great carvable pumpkins, they were small but for $1 each, I knew I could make them work.  I chose a silver theme for my fall arrangement so I had to pick up some ribbon and fall leaves along with a container.  I got the plastic cauldron at Michael’s for under $2 so for this arrangement I spent around $15 total.

My supplies:

  • Cauldron or other pot/container
  • Pumpkins – I used 3 small, but you could use 2 large
  • Fall Leaves
  • Gem stones
  • Styrofoam
  • Ribbon
  • Reflective number stickers (I used the kind you would use for your mailbox)

My first step is to cut my styrofoam to fit into the cauldron and then I painted the top black so it would not show.   I then applied my numbers to the front of the cauldron.  Next I stacked up my pumpkins that I had previously blinged up with the gem stones!  You can check out how I did that when you GO HERE.   I knew I wanted to use the monogrammed pumpkin on top so I only cut the top stems off of the other two pumpkins, making them stack level.   I stacked them up and hot glued them together and then hot glued in my fall leaves to hide the inside of the pot.  I added a few leaves to the stack and made myself a bow with the ribbon.  After hot gluing the bow to the top pumpkin stem, I added in some leaves to finish it off.

I plan to add a coat of sealer to the whole thing so that it will last longer, even though it will be on a covered porch, it never hurts to add a layer of protection!  You could use real pumpkins to create this as well, it just wouldn’t last as long.  If you use the fake pumpkins and a light container I would advise adding rocks or a brick to the bottom for weight.  If your using it outside, you wouldn’t want to lose it in a strong wind!

I am very pleased with the outcome and it looks fabulous on my porch!

  1. Dawn this is absolutely GORGEOUS! I love this, I wish I had a house where I could have one of these displayed, but I’d be too nervous that the neighborhood kids would destroy it. But I still want to take that chance, go figure! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!
